Jonathan Bennion, MD

Devoted to his work, family and faith, Dr. Jonathan Bennion has a background in public health and is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

Having recently joined our practice, Dr. Bennion is a native of Southern California, raised in West Los Angeles. He attended college at Brigham Young University in Utah and has lived several places across the country, including Texas, Massachusetts, Virginia and North Carolina. He has also lived abroad, in Portugal and Cape Verde, Africa, while serving as a missionary for his church.

Prior to his medical training, Dr. Bennion obtained a master’s degree in public health from the University of Southern California. He worked at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health before starting medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. From there, he pursued a residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina and stayed for fellowship to specialize in endocrinology and metabolism.

Outside of work, Dr. Bennion enjoys fishing, running, watching football and other sports. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons and is an active member of his church.

Dr. Bennion maintains a keen interest in evidence-based medicine and enjoys collecting articles from the biomedical literature.

He treats diabetes, thyroid and a variety of other endocrine disorders to improve the health and quality of life of his patients. He believes effective communication is essential and he likes to use analogies where possible in describing hormonal disorders. Thoughtful and dedicated, he is currently accepting new patients to his practice.
